HCC Heritage Conservation Consulting Inc. is an international company located in Quebec, Canada, founded in 2017. HCC specializes in conservation, restoration, and development of urban, architectural, and archaeological sites. 

HCC’s founder, Dr Mahmoud Bendakir, is an architect with a Ph.D. in conservation of historic and archaeological sites from the Sorbonne University in Paris (Ecole Pratique des Hautes Etudes), France, and a Master’s Degree in Earthen Architecture from CRATerre research Centre – ENSAG in Grenoble, France. Architect Mahmoud Bendakir is an international expert and UNESCO consultant for many projects. He founded the MB Conservation company in France and was an active member of the International Centre for Earthen Building – CRATerre from 1994 to 2011.

HCC offers its unique expertise and long experience to international institutions, NGOs, governments, associations, and individuals in areas related to heritage conservation and earthen construction. 

With a wide international network of experts in the field of heritage conservation, HCC offers a methodology and approach adapted to each project, covering the following activities:
  • Heritage conservation, regeneration, revitalization, renovation, restoration, and development of UNESCO World Heritage Sites, historic mud-brick cities, and archaeological sites, adaptive reuse of monuments and historic buildings, and new construction using local materials and traditional techniques 
  • Architectural documentation of historical and archaeological sites using advanced methods such as 3D laser scanning 
  • Technical studies, condition assessment and diagnostic work 
  • Expertise in historical buildings and mud-brick archaeological sites
  • Execution, supervision, coordination, and monitoring of conservation and restoration works
