Project description

Within the framework of the conservation and development project for four historic Seaports on the Red Sea launched in 2017 by SCTH (The Saudi Commission for Tourism and Heritage), HCC signed a subcontract with Dar Al Omran Company, located in Riyadh and responsible for carrying out the development studies. Our expertise in the field of heritage conservation was needed to carry out historical, archaeological, and architectural studies and to assess the state of conservation of the urban fabric and the buildings of these three villages. A technical manual for the conservation and restoration of the three villages has been prepared, including technical specifications and recommendations for best conservation practices and guidelines.

In addition, HCC supported and advised the Dar Al Omran project team at the different phases of the preparation of the plan for conservation, restoration, adaptive reuse, and development for the three historic villages.
